HIA – Stratco Cadetship Program QLD

Stratco & HIA are partnering together to give you the opportunity to break into the construction industry! Your new career starts here.

Stratco are happy to announce our new HIA-Stratco Cadetship Program for Queensland. The goal of this new program is to fast-track students to meet the Queensland Building Construction Commission (QBCC) license requirements. Those who complete the program will obtain the Queensland Sheds, Carports and Garage Installation License. This program will open your world up to future opportunities within the construction industry!

The Cadetship will be delivered in four stages:

Stage 1 – What we are looking for in you!

Successful candidates will be motivated individuals who want to gain knowledge and skills within the construction industry. We are looking for individuals who are willing to learn, have a ‘can-do’ attitude and are proactive. You will be required to be a team player whilst doing the program, this includes being reliable and punctual. Successful applicants will also require a drivers license or reliable transport along with a CI Card (White Card) or be willing to obtain one prior to starting.

Stage 2 – Trade Ready Program

As a cadet, you will be required to complete The Trade Ready Program. This is a pre-employment program that will help cadets gain necessary skills for working in the construction industry. This program runs for 5-6 weeks and includes 2-3 weeks of off the job learning along with 3 weeks paid work experience.

Stage 3 – The Cadetship

The Cadetship itself is a 12-month program that will begin at the conclusion of the Trade Ready Program. Cadets will be employed by Stratco Authorised Outback Dealers and will complete 18 units of competency. This is required to obtain the Queensland Sheds, Carport and Garage license in Queensland.

Stage 4 – Licensing

When cadets have completed all 18 units of competency, they will be required to complete a 2-day course to complete their cadetship. Once this has been completed, HIA will assist all applicants with the QBCC license application. Once licenced, you will have a world of new opportunities available to you!
