When Gisborne local Kaye wrote to The Block asking for some help to fix up Tim & Tyler’s house, she was hoping for some fresh paint and new carpets. With the help of The Block team, Tim and Tyler received a complete renovation, including a new Stratco Outback® Cooldek® Patio!
Gisborne mates Tim and Tyler have disabilities and require 24/7 care. Without modifications to the house, they wouldn't be able to continue living together. When The Block approached Stratco, we were more than happy to get involved, ensuring Tim and Tyler’s new patio looked great, met all their accessibility requirements and delivered comfort all year round with insulated Cooldek® roofing providing protection from both the sun and the rain.

Tim & Tyler's Stratco Outback® Cooldek® Patio
Their new Stratco Outback® Cooldek® Patio includes 4 Cooldek® Cool Lights allowing plenty of natural light to come through. The Patio looks great with 100x100 Columns and 150mm Outback Beams in Sand Dune. The Heritage Red gutters provide the perfect finish, ensuring the new patio complements the existing home.
The Stratco Outback® system provides wide open spaces with minimal use of support columns, posts or beams, ensuring a safe and stylish transition between the home, the Patio and the backyard. The patio is complete with low voltage Cooldek downlights, embedded into the Roof sheet providing a flush appearance and allowing Tim & Tyler to utilise their area day and night. The Patio was installed by Authorised Stratco Outback® Dealer Innovative Verandahs. Based in Hillside, Victoria, the team from Innovative Verandahs were more than happy to get involved. Working together with The Block contestants, Innovative Verandahs and Stratco were able to design and build the perfect Patio for Tim and Tyler. Stratco patios come with a 25-year structural warranty ensuring Tim and Tyler will enjoy their new patio with minimal maintenance for many years to come.

Tim & Tyler Love Their New Patio
The renovation has been an incredible experience for Tim, Tyler and everyone involved.
"The expressions on their face, the smiles when they walked in that door it was priceless," Tim's mum Kaye told 9Entertainment.
"They both walked in at the same time, the grins that came on their faces and their eyes lit up. It was something that wasn't captured on film because... I think it was overwhelming for them on the reveal day, whereas two days later it was like they just walked in [and thought] 'This is our home, wow'."
"One worker who's come into the house just recently said, 'Kaye this is the nicest house I've been to that's been [renovated] for disabled people', and she goes to houses with high needs disabled people all the time," Kaye recalled.
"I thought; 'how nice is that?', so you can take your hat off Block family."
